How will teachers access the curriculum?
A membership to Out of This World Literacy gives a teacher access to an online dashboard from which they can download or print all of the Out of This World Literacy products.
How are the resources aligned?
The core curriculum is aligned to the CCSS and the new TEKS standards. Each resource has been carefully researched. As a trained Literacy Collaborative Coordinator, Jen Bengel has relied on her year's of teaching experience, masters and post-graduate degrees, and her experience coaching and training teachers to carefully create materials that are of the highest quality, rigor, and standards-based learning for students.
How are the resources research-based?
The Reading Intervention Program underwent 2 years of research and testing from a pilot team. You can read through the data here.
All of the lessons are written using a combination of standards and The Continuum of Literacy Learning (Irene Fountas and Gay Su Pinnell), which is a well-researched pedagogy for literacy classrooms.
The lessons have been tested in elementary and middle school classrooms all over the country and the thousands of feedback/reviews from teachers speaks for itself.
