The Lotus Seed is the story of how a young girl kept a tiny lotus seed her entire life to remember her childhood and homeland.  When her grandson plants the seed she is devastated.  But, as the seed blossoms, she's reminded of her early years.

The Old Woman Who Named Things is about an old lady who had outlived everyone she loved.  So, to keep from being lonely, she named her things.  Her chair had a name.  Her car had a name.  One day she finds a dog and is scared to name it because she doesn't want to outlive him too.  The story of friendship is wonderful.

The Best Beekeeper of Lalibela: A Tale from Africa proves that a little girl can be just as good at caring from beehives as the big strong men in the village.  The story is a tale from Africa with great cultural lessons and many themes to analyze.

  • I rarely take the time to leave comments, but this article was too good not to acknowledge! Your writing is engaging, informative, and just the right amount of conversational. I love that you share your own experiences and vulnerabilities rather than positioning yourself as some untouchable expert. That authenticity really shines through and makes your advice feel much more trustworthy. Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing what you’ve learned!

  • naturally like your web site however you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth on the other hand I will surely come again again.
