MEET JENNIFER!

• Jennifer is a second-grade teacher with twelve years of teaching experience.
•  Her first six years of teaching were spent in the third-grade classroom; the following six years have been spent in the second-grade classroom. 
• She currently has fifteen girls and seven boys in her classroom.

• Erica lives in Chillicothe, MO but commutes to Braymer, MO to teach.
• She has spent six years teaching and currently is teaching Title 1 Reading.

“By the time my kids realized they needed help with reading, they really didn't want to have anything else to do with it. I was really looking for ways to get my students more interested and engaged in reading.  I used to find resources in all kinds of ways. I used Google, Pinterest, TPT, other teachers' ideas, and other ways to gather all sorts of random resources. It became a little overwhelming. MEET Kris!

• Kris teaches in Wisconsin.
• This is her 19th year of teaching.

• She was in special ed for 8 years and has been in 2nd grade for 2 years.

MEET Melissa!

• Melissa is originally from Illinois but currently resides and teaches in Mesa, Arizona.
• Melissa taught 6th grade for three years and currently teaches 3rd grade.

“When I originally found your resources I was a little overwhelmed about which ones to choose from. I definitely would recommend starting with the Reading Intervention Program. That is what got me hooked. It honestly has everything students need for fluency and it just helps them become better readers. Going into teaching 3rd grade I was aware that if my students didn't pass reading they wouldn't pass the 3rd grade. My whole goal for the year was to make sure all of my students passed so that they could move on. I remember doing a lot of research online searching for resources and materials to use for my class. • Rachel resides right outside of Maryland in Red Lion, PA.
• She teaches 4th grade, specifically ELA and Social Studies integrated.
• This is her 16th year of teaching! All of those years have been spent in 4th grade and more than half have been spent specifically teaching ELA.

“My goals for this year were pretty simple, I just really wanted to teach the standards in a fun and engaging way, mesh in social studies components, as well as get better at guided reading. I just wanted to share a quick story about how I spent my first 10% of my first check (WAHOO) last month from my Teacherspayteachers store. Back when I started TpT this spring I made a promise to God that I would give Him the first 10% of whatever I made…whether it was $1.00 or $10,000. I figured anything I made would be extra blessings for my family and I wanted to find a way to thank Him.

When I received my first check in the mail last month (WAHOO…again ), I brought my first 10% to church. I was so excited! My husband and I began attending our new church in January, so we had not been through the holiday season there yet. What I did not realize was that our church was starting a huge raffle to raise money for their annual Christmas project. They sponsor families in our local area and provide EVERYTHING for Christmas. So, I was able to purchase a ton of raffle tickets for the ‘basket bonanza.' The big drawing was after church and my family won 5 out of the 25 baskets!! We even won 4 season tickets to our local baseball team!! It was actually kind of embarrassing.

So, in the end I was able to surprise my church with a big donation, and then I was surprised by winning twice as much back in goodies from the basket bonanza!

I guess it just goes to show that the best kinds of blessings are the ones we least expect!
